Danielle Adams | @DanielleAdamsNC

Danielle AdamsThe Honorable Danielle Adams serves on the Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors in Durham, North Carolina. In 2012 she received the Outstanding District Supervisor of the Year award from the North Carolina Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts and was honored by Spectacular Magazine as the “Woman of the Year: Emerging Leader” award recipient. In 2014 Danielle was a fellow for the Young Climate Leaders Network and serves as NC state director for the Young Elected Officials Network. Danielle has previously served as the Alternative Transportation Project Manager in the Office of Sustainability at Appalachian State University, on the Board of Directors for the Upper Neuse River Association and has worked with the International Affairs Council – Middle East Partnership Initiative of the U.S. Department of State. Currently she serves as an ambassador to Oxfam America’s Sisters on the Planet program, as part of ICLEI’s Future City Leaders program, and works for the Institute for Southern Studies. She received her BA in political science with a minor in music from North Carolina Central University and studied Environmental Politics and Policy Analysis at Appalachian State University. She is obsessed with Hamilton the musical, the nanny of two wonderful boys and an avid baker.

Lucy Flores Lucy Flores is a former Nevada State Assemblywoman and candidate for Congress in Nevada. The daughter of immigrants, Lucy grew up in a challenging community in North Las Vegas. When Lucy was 9 years old, her mother left her family, leaving Lucy to care for her siblings. Lucy fell in with the wrong crowd and fell through the cracks eventually ending up on juvenile parole at 15 and dropping out of school at 17. But, through hard work and the investment of people who believed in her, she got her GED, enrolled in community college and eventually earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from USC. From there, she worked her way through UNLV Law School and ran for office to represent the community she grew up in. Lucy doesn’t have the background of a typical politician, but she has experienced firsthand the difference making an investment in people can make. Ensuring that every Nevadan has the opportunity to succeed is what continues to inspire her into public service and why she decided to run for Congress. Lucy announced her run for Congressional District 4 in April, 2015.

Shannon Bird | @skbird77

Shannon-BirdShannon Bird was elected to Westminster City Council in November 2015. She is an attorney with a background in public finance, commercial and corporate finance, and real estate development transactions. She is currently a stay-at-home mom. Bird has a J.D., M.B.A, M.S. in Finance and a B.A. in Economics. She is a member of the Board of Directors for the Five Star Education Foundation, a member of the Adams 12 Five Star Schools Policy Council, a member of the Lexington HOA Board of Directors, the Westminster 7:10 Rotary Club and the Westminster Chamber of Commerce. She is also a citizen advocate and volunteer with Great Education Colorado. Bird is a founding member of Adams 12 CAN (Community Action Network), and has served on the Adams 12 District School Improvement Team, District Accountability Committee and was the campaign chairperson of Citizens for Adams 12 Schools. She has also served as the President of the Meridian Elementary PTO for two years, the Vice President for one year and was a member of the City of Westminster Election Commission.
